Our Mainstage Season consists of three annual productions, including a professional touring guest company, "The Nutcracker - A Tale from the Bayou" and a spring concert featuring local talent.
Our Community Outreach Initiatives create affordable access to live performances, cultivate new audiences, inspire dance appreciation and educate the community on the beauty and artistry of dance. School Day Matinees pair classroom curriculum with full-scale dance productions. Ballet for Children brings dancers into local schools, introducing students to dance and nutrition through humorous dialogue and original choreography. Youth Ballet tours local venues with free public performances of their children's show. The Ballet Experience Initiative utilizes sponsorship funding to underwrite free tickets for local youth service organizations like Big Buddy and Family & Youth Services.
Our Dance Education programming includes master classes, choreography workshops, lecture-demonstrations, local summer intensive workshops with professional guest artists, national summer intensive auditions and need-based ballet training scholarships.
"Molly's years at The Dancers' Workshop and dancing with BRBT helped her to grow so much as a performer and gave her a great work ethic. She learned early to work hard, accept constructive criticism, put in the sweat equity, and to give her best. These traits have helped her in her career and in life in general." - Jill Rushing, mother of BRBT alumna & Broadway performer Molly Rushing
"There is no way that I could ever repay this organization for what they have given me, because what they have given me is priceless. I have no doubt that the skills I acquired from the Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre have helped me to be successful today." -Renee Puyau Stelzer, dancer & Director of Metabolic Kitchen at Pennington Biomedical Research Center
"We love and look forward to having BRBT's Youth Ballet perform every summer. The best part of the program is the interaction with the students after the performance; the performers are very professional and sweet." -Jodi Lemon, Coordinator of Homeless Programs for EBRPSS
